Alex Sirbu of Animal Safe-Guard Shelter in Monesti, Romania was on his way to the shelter when he stumbled upon a puppy lying in the middle of the road. It was completely motionless so he thought it was already dead. Still, he decided to pull over to get it off the lane. To his surprise, it suddenly lifted its head.
He checked to see what the matter was and he quickly realized the poor puppy was a victim of a hit-and-run. He encouraged it to stand to see the extent of its injuries but it failed to carry its weight. And when he saw the blood pool around it, he quickly contacted the nearest animal clinic to see if they could take them in.
Within about twenty minutes, Alex and the puppy he named Milla, later on, made it to the vet’s clinic. He was so worried about her but he remained optimistic. And once the doctors said she was stable, he took him to the shelter and brought him to the specialist the following morning.
X-rays and MRI scans revealed Milla suffered from a fractured leg and an infected traumatic wound. She needed a complete round of antibiotics before she was able to undergo surgery. But before she even completed her 7-day prescription, she fell so ill and tested positive for the canine parvovirus.
Milla’s condition worsen as days went by. Thankfully, after two weeks, she bounced back. She was more stable and she finally had the surgery she needed.
The puppy recovered from the amputation but she needed some time to get used to being a tripod. But in the end, she got along just fine. She continued to enjoy her life despite losing a leg.
While the puppy recuperated, Alex took the time searching for her adoptive family. And before long, he found her perfect match. He prepped everything needed and sent the little puppy on her way home.
Milla flew to Belgium and met her new mom Dorine. She adjusted to her new home almost instantly, and she loved her new life. She thrived and she grew up to be a happy and content dog.
