Peggy is a tiny kitten who just lost one of her paws. But thanks to Moon, her canine best friend, she’s recovering nicely.
Fierce Little Kitten
A dog named Moon recently met a new friend. Her name is Peggy, and she’s a tiny, fragile kitten. Although Peggy went through a tough time early in life, she proves she is also a fierce kitty.
At only ten days old, Peggy incurred an infection that affected a portion of her tail and one of her back legs. The doctors said she needs to have these areas amputated to prevent the infection from affecting other parts of her body.
Kate Hayes, Peggy’s foster mom, understands that the kitten doesn’t have much choice. As a veterinary nurse, Kate knows surgery is the only way for Peggy to survive. Without it, Peggy could risk sepsis, which is fatal for such a tiny feline.
Peggy is the youngest animal to undergo surgery at Warwick Veterinary Hospital. Kate worried that Peggy might not make it. After all, the kitten is too small and young to go through such a significant surgery. But thanks to Peggy’s incredible medical team, the tiny kitten emerged from the operation victoriously.
Moon’s love
Peggy is now on her way to recovery. At home, a furry best friend is keeping her company. Nope, it is not another kitten. It is a dog named Moon, and he is an incredible foster dad to Peggy.
Moon is naturally a compassionate dog, especially to animals in need like Peggy. According to Kate, she also fostered a three-legged kitty named Phoenix a few years ago. Moon has always been on Phoenix’s side as well. And now that he has Peggy to look after, Moon is back to his fostering duties.
Thanks to Moon, Peggy is feeling much more loved than before. She also gained some weight and is growing stronger by the day. Peggy may now lack one of her paws, but the love and support she gets from Moon and the people around her more than makes up for it.
