Jasmine was left alone with their family dog, Lola, when her parents went away for a week. Jasmine explained that their Cocker Spaniel and Poodle mix puppy stayed by the door. Lola was waiting for her grandparents to come back from the moment they left for a weeklong trip.
HOPEFUL WATCHING
Jasmine indicated she was unsure how Lola would take her grandparents’ weeklong absence. Up until this point, the longest they left the puppy was only for a few hours. Clearly, Jasmine noticed the change in Lola’s behavior as soon as the folks drove off.
LOVELORN
Lola watched the front door like a hawk. She excitedly wagged her tail with each noise. Subsequently, Lola became more attentive to every car that passed in front of their house. The poor darling, had no way of knowing her family would not return for a week.
Lola sometimes stayed in a spot by the living room window to see the cars easier, Jasmine indicated. Additionally, Lola sulked in her doggy bed at the end of the day when they had not returned. Lola was up and vigilant the next day.
Jasmine shared that Lola loves her. However, Lola is more excited whenever her folks return home after being away doing errands. Lola is more attached to her folks because she gets spoiled with cuddles and doggy treats. Additionally, the treats are given without Lola doing tricks.
Jasmine chuckled at how memorable Lola’s reaction was when she heard the sound of her folks’ car pulling into the driveway. She immediately started barking and doing a little wiggly dance as she watched them walk to the front door. Jasmine indicated Lola had not done anything like that before. She is doubtful if it will continue for very long.
