These animals show life is better with a best friend. As a result of the respective terminal illnesses, they join their human parents in a hunt for fun and excitement. There is never enough time, so making the most of every minute is the mantra they follow. It is heartwarming to learn that a bulldog named Harley Bruiser and a retriever named Buckeye are destined for fame.
Party Animals
These sweet-natured boys, even at 10 and 15, respectively, bond on sight. To make their days great, their loving families create a bucket list of things to do, places to go, and people to see. Party Animals takes a whole new meaning in a dog’s eyes. With the help of their humans, they are set up for fun!
Planning daily activities around each of the items on the list is a loving effort. The creativity for fulfilling the goals is also memory-making at its finest. The adventuresome plans include travel, photographs, and lots of love.
The first item on the list is a day of shopping at the nearest doggie boutique. A day of getting new toys, extra snacks, browsing the isles, and loving the extra attention is perfect!
Visiting people is more fun if riding in the back of a truck with people. Everyone is up for lazy days of parks, sunshine, and lots of cuddles. Clearly, nothing is as essential as giving these treasured family members the best quality of life, no matter how long.
Buckeye
Buckeye’s owner Grace Kemp, a veterinarian, found the retriever puppy. She adopted him, taking him home. Consequently, he earns a beloved Kemp family member from the moment they met.
He helps Grace in her work. As a vet, Grace demonstrates quality senior pet care for holistic pet health. She often brings Buckeye to her work at Goodworks Veterinary Hospital in Ohio.
Harley
The bulldog, Harley, didn’t waste a minute of his last weeks. He is spoiled like crazy following the years he dedicated to caring for his family. His mom, Ashley McElfresh, photographed his fun times with Buckeye, which resulted in a Facebook page.
Final Tribute
Harley’s bucket list moments were tracked on the Facebook group “Bucket List Adventures of Harley Bruiser.” Items included riding a real Harley Davidson motorcycle and making art. A lot was packed into a short time, clearly building lasting memories. Along with Harley, Buckeye often made appearances on his best buddy’s Facebook page in their shared adventures.
Unlike people who focus on the negative, these families make a difference. Each day of their adventure is a treasured memory for the dogs they loved before they all said their last goodbyes. The warm memories these families made with love are lasting tribute to Harley and Buckeye.
It is fantastic that this Facebook Group continues to supports people and their animals. They drive fundraising efforts, share caring comments, and even provide guidance when asked. Community outreach from Ohio has reached the other side of the world.
People who love animals make great things happen!
