Usually, stray puppies that get hit by a car meet a sad fate. But once in a while, a good samaritan comes to their rescue before the situation gets worse. A Greek man named Takis is one of these good samaritans.
Takis recently rescued a puppy who got seriously hurt. It was hit by a car, but it managed to limp into a safe hiding spot. The rescuer got a call from concerned passersby, and that’s how he found the puppy.
When Takis arrived at the scene, the puppy had an obvious wound on its right paw. It didn’t have the energy to run and was visibly shaking. Takis carefully lifted the dog up with one arm and carried him to his vehicle.
Upon arriving at Takis’s dog shelter, the puppy was given food and water. Of course, the rescuer cleaned the dog’s wound. Takis also found out that it was a female puppy and named her Kamila.
Takis placed Kamila in a tiny but comfortable dog bed. He said words of reassurance to the dog while petting her. She might not understand what the rescuer was saying, but the touches were enough to calm her.
After some time, a few other rescuers informed Takis that they had found Kamila’s siblings. These other puppies were brought to the shelter as well. Takis was ecstatic when he saw Kamila’s siblings. He immediately brought them inside to meet her.
Kamila was obviously excited to see her siblings. She was wagging her tail and giving them good licks. Takis felt nothing but joy seeing them reunite.
Takis’s next step is to find a good loving home for the puppies. They will most likely be separated again, but sometimes adopters don’t mind getting a package deal. Regardless, Takis is hopeful for the puppies’ future.
