For years, a Siberian Husky named Maya was forced to repeatedly breed by her owners. Aside from that, she was also treated horribly that she started to suffer from various conditions. Through all those years of exploitation, her conditions worsened, and she ultimately became paraplegic. And when she could no longer bear puppies, her owners decided to throw her out.
To make everything even worse, her owners even planned to give her rat poison since she can no longer serve to generate profit for them.
Luckily, one woman named Silvia Rayssa stepped in to rescue Maya and give her a second chance in life. And this time around, Maya would get the chance to actually be a dog and live a full life despite being paraplegic.
When Silvia and colleagues came to rescue Maya, they found her resting in a cold cage. But what was even more devastating than that, Maya was totally hurt that that she ate her own feces and even drank her own urine. Silvia was reminded at that moment that even though she thought she had seen everything in this life, she realized that she hadn’t really seen enough yet.
They immediately scooped her up and put her in the car. And then they got her checked in the vet clinic and for the first 48 hours, Silvia never left Maya’s side. She was afraid she wouldn’t make it and she didn’t want Maya to be alone at that moment. But Maya was not about to give up the fight and she was so motivated to live.
And thankfully, Maya really did come through all the pain of the past five years of her life. After that, she started her one year and a half of treatment for both her physical and mental health. Maya then readjusted to her new life with a wheelchair and ever since then, she never looked back.
Now, she is living her best and fullest life, traveling and taking on different adventures with her new mom.
